Our research into consumer attitudes comes from a variety of sources. Many of our research projects take the form of tracker surveys to understand how attitudes are changing over time.
Food in Scotland consumer tracker survey
This survey is undertaken biannually and is made up of a set of consistent questions at each wave, with modules focussing on food safety and authenticity, and diet and nutrition, each running annually.

Understanding of healthy eating messages
Food Standards Scotland also commission bespoke research to understand in more detail how consumers and health professionals understand nutrition and healthy eating messages. This information provides additional contextual information on consumer understanding of a healthy diet and why its difficult to change.
