Food Standards Scotland is providing £50,000 to match the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland’s (REHIS) contribution to expand the delivery of the Elementary Food Hygiene Course. This will provide up to 10,000 secondary school pupils with the resources to complete the training in 2018.

Two hundred delegates will attend ‘Fresh Thinking on Food’, Food Standards Scotland’s first food conference, this Wednesday (28 March 2018) at the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh.

The new results from this survey provide confirmation that folate levels are dropping across the population. Food Standards Scotland maintains its call for mandatory fortification of flour with folic acid on a UK-wide basis to help address this concerning drop in folate levels.
