4 documents for this subject

Summary

As of 21st March 2022, the requirements for controlling COVID-19 risks in the workplace have been changed.

Food businesses are now directed to Scottish Government for all future advice on COVID-19 controls in the workplace and should refer to the Scottish Government’s general safer workplaces guidance. This guidance has been produced for all businesses to inform a consistent approach for reducing the risk of transmission of COVID-19 and ensure a safe environment for customers and staff.

The Scottish Government’s general safer workplaces guidance provides food businesses with the most up to date information on the following key areas:

  • Face coverings
  • Risk assessment
  • Managing transmission risk
  • Hybrid working
  • Vaccination and testing

Additional advice on how to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in workplace environments has also been published by Public Health Scotland (PHS).

FBOs will be aware that the Scottish Government is following its Strategic Framework to reflect the current status of the pandemic and set out Scotland’s approach to managing COVID-19 and its associated harms effectively for the long term as we prepare for a calmer phase of the pandemic. All businesses are still advised to encourage preventative measures where possible to keep staff and customers safe.
