Improved labelling on food sold prepacked for direct sale becomes law to protect Scottish consumers
New legislation which requires food businesses in Scotland to include detailed ingredient and allergen information on labels for prepacked for direct sale (PPDS) foods will become law on 1 October 2021.

£19.2 million for cross-government surveillance project to protect public health
Food Standards Scotland is to be part of a UK-wide pilot scheme, funded by the UK Treasury under the Shared Outcomes fund, to adopt a ‘One Health’ approach to the surveillance of foodborne pathogens and antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
